Error code 346

You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2022 tax software if, while completing Schedule 8: Contributions to the CPP or QPP, you entered an invalid date in the field labelled What was the date of that election? (usually it’s the first day of the month after the day you gave your CPT30 to your employer):

The date you completed the CPT30 form to stop contributing to the CPP must be before December 31, 2022. Please correct the date you entered. [error code: 346]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error, go back to the Schedule 8 page and enter the date on which you completed the CPT30 form to stop contributing to the CPP into the following field: What was the date of that election? (usually it’s the first day of the month after the day you gave your CPT30 to your employer).

This field appears after you answer Yes to the question, Did you elect to stop paying CPP contributions on your employment income by completing a CPT30 form (in 2019 or a previous year)?.

Remember, the date that you enter into the tax software must be prior to December 31, 2022.

Note: You can find the Schedule 8 page on the Credits & deductions tab under Other.
