Alberta investor tax credit

The Alberta investor tax credit (AITC) has been discontinued for tax year 2020 and beyond. If you have unused AITC amounts from a previous year, you’ll still be able to claim them on your return.

Follow these steps in H&R Block’s 2022 tax software:

Before you begin, make sure you’ve told us that you lived in Alberta on December 31, 2022.

  1. On the left navigation menu, under the Credits & deductions tab, click Tax Topics.
  2. In the Claim your credits, deductions, and expenses section, click Continue.
  3. In the Investments box, click the Add This Topic button.

  1. Under the INVESTMENT INCOME heading, select the checkbox labelled Alberta investor tax credit, then click Continue.

  2. When you arrive at the Alberta investor tax credit page, enter your information into the tax software.
